Welcome Dr. Grace Moore
Dr. Moore is a native of Mason City, graduating from Newman Catholic High School. Grace went on to attend Loyola University Chicago as a student-athlete. While at Loyola she competed in cross country, track and field, and majored in biology with a minor in biostatistics. Despite not having any family influence in the dental field, she knew from her early high school years that she wanted to pursue an education in dentistry. She was accepted to The University of Iowa College of Dentistry, bringing her back to Hawkeye country for four years. During her dental studies, she served on multiple committees through the Iowa chapter of the American Student Dental Association and held leadership roles in various clubs.
Additionally, Dr. Moore was elected as President of the Class of 2019 during her third and fourth years. Through her didactic and clinical experiences, she found a particular interest in the management of patients with periodontal disease and surgical dentistry. Immediately following her dental school graduation in 2019, Dr. Moore began her residency at The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska receiving advanced training in periodontics and dental implants. She currently serves as chief resident, anticipating her graduation in June 2022 with a certificate in periodontics and a master’s in oral biology.
In her free time, Dr. Moore enjoys running, traveling, and spending time at the lake. She recently has her hands full with her new, 7-month-old, English cream retriever, Norman. Dr. Moore is looking forward to returning to Mason City to be close to family and friends and carrying on the legacy that Dr. Fortman has built with North Iowa Periodontics.
