Philanthropy

Dr. Fortman and the team at North Iowa Periodontics believe we can best serve our community by giving the gift of time and financial support to enhance the quality of life for others.

One Vision

One Vision is a private, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to serving over 600 people with intellectual disabilities in over 30 Iowa communities.  Helping people find success at home, at work and in the community is their goal.  Currently, we are a Primary Sponsor for One Vision’s “Festival of Tree’s”.  We also see many residents of One Vision. Our hygienists assist them to attain the highest quality of oral health.  For more information on One Vision or to make a donation: www.oppvill.org

Love your Melon

Love your Melon is student run organization with a mission of improving the lives of children battling cancer.  It was founded at St. Thomas University in 2012 by two students in an entrepreneurship class and went nationwide in 2014.  Love your melon now has 2500 student ambassadors on 225 college campuses throughout the United States.  For every beanie or hat that the organization sells, one is donated to a child fighting cancer.  Emily Fortman was a previous Ambassador while attending the University of Iowa. Emily is happy to see that her years working with the University of Iowa Dance Marathon raising money for families of children with cancer continue to evolve.  A great college football custom was born in the fall of 2017.  The “Wave” to the children at the University of Iowa Children’s hospital at the end of the first quarter has become very popular.  In Emily’s honor, we at North Iowa Periodontics, would like to continue to help raise money and awareness for children fighting cancer.  To order a beanie or hat, go to loveyourmelon.com.  Be sure to put the University of Iowa as your donation campus.

Forces and Fire, Inc.

Forces and Fire, Inc.’s mission is to provide a safe outdoor recreational experience for any disables veteran, firefighter, or law enforcement officer and their families, where they can enhance their strengths and independence as a family. Their goal is to let them know that their contribution is realized and has not been forgotten. Forces and Fire, Inc. provides outdoor recreational activities including fishing, deer hunting, and turkey hunting. These experiences give family members an opportunity to see the rehabilitation of their loved ones see them be active again. Forces and Fire, Inc. is managed and operated by unpaid volunteer firefighters and veterans.  The outdoor activities are not possible without charitable donations.  100% of all donations go towards the disabled veterans, fire fighters, and law enforcement officers and are tax deductible to the donor.  To donate to this very important cause, please phone or e-mail Randy Evans. 641-330-1757, revans4962@msn.com.
